The 14th of November marks World Diabetes Day, the world’s largest diabetes awareness campaign, which reaches over 1 Billion people from more than 160 countries worldwide. The campaign is represented by the blue circle, which signifies the unity of the global diabetes community in response to the diabetes epidemic.
The theme for the 2018-19 World Diabetics Day is “Family and Diabetes,” with the primary aim of raising awareness of the impact that diabetes has on the family.
It is also to promote the role of family in the management, care, prevention and education of the condition.
In support of the theme of WDD, we will be looking deeper into the three main focus areas for the 2018-19 campaign: Discover, Prevent and Manage Diabetes. Check back regularly for updates on these focus areas.
