The Santa Shoebox Project collects and distributes gifts for underprivileged children throughout South Africa and Namibia. This project has reached 762 594 children over the last 12 years.
HemoCue South Africa donated 20 shoeboxes to 10 boys and 10 girls between the ages of 3 and 6 as part of our "HemoCue Cares" initiative.
A shopping spree followed where the necessary items for the underprivileged children were purchased.
Last month as many of the staff in the Gauteng area as possible came together to put the gifts into the boxes.
Each box was carefully packed from the assortment of clothes, toiletries, sweets, toys and educational supplies available; lists were checked and boxes were labelled and tied with ribbon.
These boxes were dropped off at a collection hub during October and will be distributed to the various school, crèches and orphanages late in November before the end of term.
